Hi I'm Amanda, I am a true southern girl and have finally found my calling in life...working at the local funeral home. My blog follows my daily life as a mom to an amazing 7 year old, being marrried to a mortician, reliving some southern traditions, ways to save money for a true shopaholic, fun things to do with your children, and things that inspire and make me happy. Hopefully they will inspire and make you smile as well.

The funeral dog
Sometimes things happen right in front of your eyes that you have no way of explaining except God and someone from above has a sense of humor. A few days ago a sweet little dog showed up at the funeral home. She was hungry and needed a few ticks removed but otherwise an adorable pug mix. I fed her and gave her water and pulled a few ticks off her. She had a wonderful personality and temperament. Knowing I couldn't take her home I hoped somehow someone would take here before I had to call the local shelter. Today as one of the mothers and a sister of someone we had cared for came by to visit from Atlanta we talked and recalled stories of how wonderful her son/brother was and how she still felt he was with her in certain ways and random incidents. As they began to leave we walked to the glass doors to hug goodbye and the little dog popped her head towards the glass. I jokingly asked if they knew anyone needing a companion, to my surprise the sister and her family had been searching for months for the perfect little dog to be a family pet and have a personality to fit their 8 year old son...guess someone from above had choreographed this meeting...and guess who went home with the family pet they had been searching for...
